Richard D. Alleman, 84, of Fayetteville, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 in the Quincy United Methodist Home. Born on November 23, 1931 in Mowersville, PA, he was a son of the late Thaddeus Alleman and Lilly Irene Hamilton Alleman. Rich proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Letterkenny Army Depot, where he had worked as a sandblaster. He was a life member of the Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599, Burt J. Asper American Legion Post 46, and Hume McNeil Byers Amvets Post 224, where he served as Post Commander from 1976-78. He was also a member of the Marine Corps League in Chambersburg, and the Eagles Club in Waynesboro. He is survived by his wife, Lois Sprow Alleman, whom he married September 27, 1975; five siblings, Pauline Kline of Fayetteville, Fred Alleman of Orrstown, Irene Byers (husband Wayne) of Fayetteville, E. Jean Rebuck and Milton Alleman (wife Judy), all of Chambersburg. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Conrad and Clifford, and sisters, Mae, Dolly, Annie and Virginia. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Monday, March 14, 2016 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, with viewing one hour prior to the service. Pastor Lee Daywalt will officiate. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hall Cemetery, where members of VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard will conduct military graveside honors.
