Richard L. George, 61, of Chambersburg, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at his home. Born June 17, 1956 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Kenneth and Lillian Fahrney George.
Richard was a 1974 graduate of CASHS. After high school, he was employed at Grove Manufacturing for 15 years. He most recently was employed for 15 years as a welder at D.L. George and Son’s in Waynesboro. Richard enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and watching the Washington Redskins and the Baltimore Orioles. His favorite pastime was spending time around the campfire with his granddaughters roasting marshmallows.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Cindy Kline George, whom he married on June 25, 1977; two sons, Shannon George and wife Michelle of Shippensburg and Daniel George and fiancé Nicole Breen of Chambersburg; two granddaughters, Keira and Alexis George; and two siblings, Janice Green and husband Jay of South Carolina and Lennis George and wife Sally of Tennessee.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, February 23, 2018, at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SpiriTrust Lutheran Homecare and Hospice, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
