Richard “Rick” E. Gomer, 65, of Chambersburg, passed away Friday, October 15, 2021 at ManorCare Health Services in Chambersburg. Born November 27, 1955 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late George Roy and Patricia Ann Glass Gomer. He was employed at Brechbill and Helman in Chambersburg. Rick was a member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church where he served as an usher and greeter and was always readily willing to help in any way that he could. He was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion Squad 612 in St. Thomas. He enjoyed hunting, farm work, outdoor activities, and spending time with his family and friends as well as his canine companion, Raspberry.
He is survived by two brothers, George “Mike” Gomer and wife Arlene, and Benjamin J. Gomer and wife Stephanie (Rice); a niece, Jessie Ruth and husband John; a nephew, Brian Gomer and wife Danielle; one great niece; and two great nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, October 21, 2021 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Denise B. Horn will officiate. Interment will follow at Lincoln Cemetery. There will be a viewing from Noon until services begin at 1:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
