Richard Miller

Richard B. “Dick” Miller, age 77, of Chambersburg, PA passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2012 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born July 10, 1935 in Chambersburg, PA he was the son of the late Bruce F. and Esther P. Wadel Miller.
A 1953 graduate of the former St. Thomas High School, Dick went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force honorably for 23 years, retiring in 1975. He went on to work for McCleary Oil for over 20 years. A gifted athlete, Dick loved baseball, where he was known as a great pitcher, he enjoyed watching the Phillies and the Eagles, mowing his yard, and his animals.
Surviving is his loving wife, Martha L. Rice Miller, whom he married on 12-22-56; his children, Richard B. Miller Jr (wife Emily) of Ft. Wayne, IN; Gary W. Miller of Lititz, PA; Sheree L. Trace (husband Keith) of Mt. Airy, MD; Jacqueline R. Gartner (husband Joe) of Lititz, PA; ten grandchildren, Brett and Kayla Trace, Jolene, Gillian, and Garrett Gartner; Brinn and Lucas Miller; and Alexis, Cara, and James Miller.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 1 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Lester F. Stine will officiate. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, where military honors will be provided by members of the Charles M. Nitterhouse VFW, Post 1599 Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the Charles M. Nitterhouse VFW, Post 1599, 747 South Fourth St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
