Richard Mull

Richard E. “Dick” Mull, 83, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, February 15, 2016 at his home. Born April 11, 1932 in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late S.J.D. and Hilda Kriner Mull. Dick served with the US Army as a military police officer and was employed for forty-six years at Nitterhouse Concrete, retiring in 1993. He was a member of Solomon’s Evangelical Lutheran Church near Chambersburg and the Detrich-Brechbill Post 612 American Legion in St. Thomas. Dick enjoyed working outdoors and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Ferry Mull, whom he married June 30, 1956; his son, Samuel A. Mull and wife Becky of Chambersburg; his daughter, Kimberly I. Diehl of Westminster, MD; six grandchildren, Brian, Ben, and Matthew Diehl, Dustin Mull, Kristen Parr, and Sean Kindall; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a sister, Esther Gift of Chambersburg, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, John Kindall and his son-in-law, Sidney Diehl.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Solomon’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. William Nienstedt officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM Thursday at the church. Private interment, prior to the service on Thursday, will be at Grindstone Hill Cemetery.
