Richard Pearson

Richard E. Pearson, age 84 of Chambersburg, PA and formerly of Fairfax, VA; passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013 at his home with his wife of 32 years at his side. Born July 31, 1929 in Windber, PA, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Jane Pearson.
After graduation from Windber High School in Windber, PA in 1947, he moved to Washington, D.C., where he began his career in law enforcement with the F.B.I, until he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp., serving his country from 1950 until 1952, during which he attained the rank of Sergeant. He went on to serve in the Metropolitan Police Department, Washington, DC, from 1953 until his retirement in 1973 as a Plain Clothes man Detective. His career continued at the Library of Congress in Security, from 1975 until retiring in 1999.
Richard is survived by his wife Alice Mae Pearson, his son, Rick Pearson (wife Laura) and four grandsons, Justin, Matthew, Nathan, and Brian Pearson all of Ashburn, VA, step-son, K. Paul Blake of Chambersburg, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his bothers, McClellan B., Harvey K., Kipp G., Alonza L. Pearson and a sister Alice.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA 17202; where Rev. Robert Cook will officiate. The family will receive friends in the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will be in Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS, 66675.
