Richard L. Tedrick, age 80, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017, at Menno Haven. Born October 21, 1936, in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Edward and Dorothy Peters Tedrick.
A 1955 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School. He served honorably in the U.S. Army Reserves for a number of years. Mr. Tedrick worked as a surveyor and draftsman, for 37 years, retiring in 1998. During his career, he worked for Arrowood Incorporated, Dennis E. Black, and Statler and Lahr. He enjoyed salt water fishing in Rehoboth, DE, bowling, especially in the 50+ league, Golden Age League, and the Mixed Friday Night League. Mr. Tedrick had bowled from 1957 until 2015.
Surviving is his son, Robert Tedrick (companion Trudy) of Chambersburg, PA and two siblings, Thomas Tedrick (wife Brenda) of Deltona, FL and Sandra Rosenberry (husband Carl) of Roxbury, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Norma H. Tedrick in 2012, a daughter, Debra Tedrick in 1976, and a sister, Patricia Alvy.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at 1 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where the Very Rev. Fr. Luis R. Rodriguez will officiate. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Corpus Christi Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Rd. West, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
