Richard L. Zullinger, 70, of Chambersburg, PA, died Friday morning, February 26, 2016 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born August 1, 1945 in Chambersburg, he was a son of Dorothy Diehl Zullinger and the late Orville W. Zullinger. He was a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and was self-employed in construction most of his life. He had attended Orrstown United Brethren Church; was a life member of both the Hume-McNeil-Byers Amvets Post 224 and Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW; and was a member of Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Corey L. Zullinger and wife Linda of St. Thomas; two daughters, Chrystal L. Kesselring and husband Forrest of St. Thomas and Laken M. Strock and husband Daniel of Mercersburg; two grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Rodney Zullinger of Perry County and a sister, Darlene Wenger and husband Alvin of Chambersburg. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Larry, Robert, and Orville “Wayne” Zullinger.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, March 3, 2016 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Ken Williamson will officiate. Interment with military honors by members of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard will follow at Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
