Rickey Rideout

Rickey A. Rideout, age 66, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 14, 2017. Born September 1, 1951, in Hagerstown, MD, he was a son of the late Maurice Quivers and Dorothy Rideout.
A U.S. Navy veteran, Rickey served honorably from 1970 to 1972 during the Vietnam era, and in the Navy Reserves for the next 7 years. He was known as a very hard worker, and worked as a warehouse leader at Letterkenny Army Depot, retiring in 1995. He was also a taxi driver. Rickey was an associate member of DAV Charles W. McCleary Chapter #78; as well as a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Chambersburg. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and loved dancing and watching cartoons. In his free time, he enjoyed taking walks.
Surviving are his wife of 10 years, Deanna Rideout, whom he married on March 8, 2007; children Kylee Brown, of Chambersburg, and Tamara and Pamela King both of Harrisburg, PA; several grandchildren; seven siblings, Terry Rideout of Waynesboro, Bobby “Ocean” Rideout of Chambersburg, Evadney “Tiny” Richardson of Chambersburg, Gwen Quivers of Pittsburgh, Sylvania Quivers of Texas, Maurice Quivers Jr. of Lemasters, and Ramona Teal of Maryland. In addition to his parents, Rickey was preceded in death by his twin sister, Vickie J. Rideout.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 22, 2017 in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. Dr. Lois Waters will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made out to DAV Charles W. McCleary Chapter #78, 2705 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
