Ricki Lynn Smith-Coyne

Ricki Lynn Smith-Coyne passed away February 10, 2025. 

She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Mackey, son, Derek Smith, and son, William J. Coyne IV and her husband, William J. Coyne III.

She was the former Publisher of both the North Penn Reporter, Lansdale, PA and the Milford Citizen in Milford, CT. Prior to that she was responsible for advertising sales for Gannett’s newly launched USA Today. After a very successful career in the newspaper industry, Ricki became an Executive Assistant in the Admissions office of Flint Hill School in Vienna, VA where she worked until her retirement.

Ricki also taught Sunday School at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vienna, VA for nearly 20 years. 

Known for her sunny disposition, Ricki brought joy to everyone she touched. Even though challenged by several strokes and brain seizures in her waning years, Ricki always managed to smile and laugh despite her condition. Everyone who knew her had the benefit of one of her famous hugs. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 18, 2025 in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Lincoln Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Tuesday afternoon in the funeral home.
