Robert Diller

Robert H. Diller, age 82, of Chambersburg, PA, went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 5, 2014. Born October 11, 1931 in Chambersburg, he was a son of late Silas S. and Emma Horst Diller. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church where he was President of the Hoover Sunday School class. He had been an active member of the Fayetteville Ruritan Club. After retiring from farming, Bob was employed by Valley Quarries. He was very eager to be the taxi driver for his grandchildren and he greatly enjoyed socializing with his friends at Dunkin Donuts.

He is survived by the love of his life, whom his door was always opened for, estranged wife, Margaret L. Diller of Shippensburg. He will also be greatly missed by his sons, Dean E. Diller and wife Gayle of Melbourne Beach, FL, Dale E. Diller and wife Sherian of Chambersburg; daughters Debra K. Brechbill and husband Darrell of Chambersburg, Donna R. Heisey and husband Harold of Orrstown, and Denise F. Hammond and husband Rick of Shippensburg; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Fannie Frey; and five brothers, Ray, Lester, Charles, John, and James Diller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Diane; two sisters, Isabel Martin and Louise Frey; and two brothers, Leroy and Paul Diller.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, March 7, 2014 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Rick Noll, Rev. Jennett Wertz, and Rev. Thomas Willis officiating. Interment will follow at Norland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 PM Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA, and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
