Robert C. Fahnestock, 88, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Wednesday evening, August 24, 2016 at Menno Haven. Born December 31, 1927 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Charles K. and Marie Snyder Fahnestock. Mr. Fahnestock was a 1947 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School and worked as a self-employed carpenter most of his life. He was last employed at the Lurgan Elementary School. Mr. Fahnestock was a member of Christian Life Assembly of God in Chambersburg. He sang with numerous area Christian quartets and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by three children, Brenda Wenger and husband Ray of Mt. Vernon, GA, Karen Angle and husband Ron of South Mountain, PA, and Robert Fahnestock and wife Lana of Saxton, PA; two step-children, Gloria Robinson and husband Steve of McConnellsburg and Joyce Zeger and husband Tony of Chambersburg; two granddaughters; one grandson; four step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Kenneth Fahnestock of Chambersburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Elsie Fahnestock on November 21, 1980; his second wife, Dorothy M.C. Fahnestock of September 28, 2015; and a brother, Raymond Fahnestock.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Monday, August 29, 2016 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Pastor Steve Barnett will officiate. Interment will follow at Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
