Robert Fickes

Robert E. Fickes, Sr., Age 80 of Chambersburg, PA; passed away in the Chambersburg Hospital Emergency Room on Wednesday, June 27, 2012. Born July 24, 1931 in Fayetteville, PA he was the son of the late Joseph E. and Nellie C. Baughman Fickes.
A manager in the meat department of the former A&P and Superfresh Supermarkets, Mr. Fickes devoted 27 ½ years of faithful service. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. Mr. Fickes enjoyed cooking, mushroom hunting, ballroom dancing, traveling, deep sea fishing, and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his children, Cindy Kinsey (Bradley) of Chambersburg; Donna Bangert (Todd) of Chambersburg; Robby Wenger of Chambersburg; Joseph E. Fickes (Cheryl) of Fayetteville; Robert E. Fickes, Jr. (Neace) of Shippensburg; Dawn Crider of Chambersburg; and Barbara Fickes of Waynesboro; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Nancy Fickes McGlaughlin and a brother, Tarrie Fickes. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorrine Monn Fickes in 2003 and a son, Terry Monn and an infant daughter, Pamela Fickes, and a sister Betty Brookens.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 1 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA; where Mr. Todd Bangert will officiate. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service in the funeral home on Saturday. Interment will follow the service in Quincy Cemetery.
