Robert R. Fields, Jr., age 63, of Orrstown, PA, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at his home. Born August 23, 1948 in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Robert R., Sr. and Ruth Mohler Fields.
A Welding Instructor for the former Grove Manufacturing and now Manatowoc Crane, Mr. Fields dedicated 37 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and gardening the most.
Surviving is his wife of 37 years, Evelyn DeHart Fields, whom he married on February 8, 1975; three children, Trudy A. Carmichael (husband Jason) of Jacksonville, NC; Robert R. Fields III of Bedford, PA; and George W. Fields of Orrstown, PA, six grandchildren, and four siblings.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 19, 2012 at 11:30 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA; where Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in his name to the American Heart Association, 417 Phoenix Dr., suite A, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
