Robert E. Fisher Sr. 71, of Salisbury, NC and formerly of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016 at the Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born August 17, 1944 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Charles E. and Catherine Williams Fisher. Mr. Fisher served honorably in the US Army and later retired from Letterkenny Army Depot after 33 years of service. Mr. Fisher enjoyed the outdoors, Nascar and spending time with Family. Mr. Fisher was an avid Woods Brothers Racing Fan and a lifelong Indianapolis Colt fan.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years Victoria Nelling Fisher, whom he married March 7, 1965. Sons Robert E. Fisher Jr. (wife Rebecca) and Brian Fisher, three grandchildren Brett Fisher, Lora Fisher and Chase Fisher. He is also survived by two sisters, Sylvia Brown of Hustontown and Janet Voegel (husband William) of Chambersburg and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers George Fisher and Charles Fisher and sisters Carrie Hughes and Virginia Myerly.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday March 15, 2016 at Otterbein United Methodist Church Cemetery, Lurgan Township, PA. Pastor Thomas Willis will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by members of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard.
