Robert Foreman

March 21, 1924 — March 25, 2017

Robert Earl Foreman, 93, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017 at his home. Born March 21, 1924 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Herbert George and Blanche Mae Walterick Foreman. Mr. Foreman was a graduate of the former Chambersburg High School and served honorably with the US Army during WWII. He retired from Letterkenny Army Depot. Mr. Foreman was a member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church and Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion in Chambersburg. He enjoyed hunting and reading, and was a fan of the Baltimore Orioles.

He is survived by his loving wife, Belva Smith Foreman, whom he married July 8, 1948; two daughters, Donna Harvill of Chambersburg and Robbie Foreman of Del Haven, NJ; three grandchildren, Keith VanAsdalan of Vista, CA, Heidi Hawbaker and husband Matt of Chambersburg, and Kevin VanAsdalan and wife Beth of Pittsburgh; two great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Levi Hawbaker of Chambersburg; his sister, Esther Ward of Fayetteville; and a special family friend, Beth Gabler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, George, Jr., Ralph, Garnet, and Harold Foreman.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 29, 2017 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Rachel Wong will officiate. Interment with military honors by members of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard will follow at Norland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Park Avenue United Methodist Church, 1340 Edgar Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
