Robert C. “Bob” Freet, 79, of Greencastle, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born on March 16, 1942 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Charles D. Freet and Mabel E. Miller Freet. He was the widower of Sandra J. Daley Freet, who preceded him in death on January 17, 2016.
A 1960 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School, Bob then attended Lycoming College, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree and his MBA. As the owner of the former McKnight Motors of Chambersburg, he enjoyed a long and successful career in the car dealership business. He spent a number of years as a sales and leasing consultant with Shively Motors in Chambersburg and then retired from Buchanan Auto Park in Waynesboro.
He is survived by three stepchildren, Julie (Doug) Wagaman, Keith (Karla) Daley, all of Greencastle, and Sheila Daley of Chambersburg; step-grandchildren, Morgan Wagaman, Melody Buzzard and Brooke Knight, Molly Boatright, Nadine Pederson and Lane Pederson, six great step-grandchildren and six great great step-grandchildren. Aside from his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother David R. Freet.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2021 in Norland Cemetery, Chamberburg. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home.
