Robert Glick

Doctor Robert Newby Glick, 85, of Fayetteville, passed peacefully December 30, 2023. He was born to the late Mitchell and Ada Glick, on Sunday July 3, 1938, in Edinburg Indiana.
Robert is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Susan Hill Glick; children, Elizabeth Acosta and husband Sal, Emily Glick, Jack Glick and wife Heather, and Elaine Paskowski and husband Paul; grandchildren Liam and Olivia Glick, Ethan and Bethany Paszkowski; sister Lynette Andrews, and his beloved standard Poodle, Winston. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Doctor Glick graduated from Edinburgh High School in Indiana. He achieved his Bachelor’s degree from Hanover College in Biology and Chemistry. He also achieved a Master’s and Doctorates from Michigan State University in Zoology. He was an assistant professor at Wilson College and Wright State University; graduate teaching assistant at Michigan State, and he was the Biological Department Assistant Professor at Northwestern State University of Louisiana. After teaching for nineteen years, he worked as a laboratory consultant in Environmental Chemistry at Nassaux Hemsley; Chief Chemist at Letterkenny Army Depot; and a health physicist at the directorate of Material Management for the U.S. Army, Kaiserslautern, Germany.
Robert was a member of the National Rifle Association, a social member of the VFW Post 1599, various trap shooting clubs, and the ski club. He enjoyed shooting both rifle and pistol as well as trap shooting. He loved skiing in the Alps, going for long walks, working out, and reading. He was well known as a history buff.
A Memorial Mass will be at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA, Thursday January 11th, 2024 at 12 Noon, celebrated by Father Matthew Smith. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023 Merrifield, VA 22116-7023; and/or the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter 5051 Letterkenny Road West, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
