Robert Hamilton

Robert C. Hamilton, 78, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016. Born March 22, 1938 in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Christine Pine Hamilton. He served his country in the 405th Squadron of the US Air Force from 1955-1959. Mr. Hamilton was employed at Mack Truck for 33 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of King Street United Brethren Church; a life member of Amvets Post 224 and the Marine Corps League; a post member of American Legion Post 46 and VFW Post 1599; and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #842 and the 40 et 8 Club, all in Chambersburg. In his free time, he enjoyed working on cars.

He is survived by his wife Zita Keefer Hamilton; children Barbara Brown (Lewis), Brenda Walton (Brian), Toni Shoplik (Ron), and Mark Hamilton (Alicia); grandchildren Josh Brown, Matt Brown, Tara Steinberger, and Zachary Hamilton; four great-grandchildren; his sister, Margaret Schlosser; and his special uncle, Gerald Hamilton.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, December 23, 2016 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. John Ile will officiate. Interment will follow at Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday and 9:00-10:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.
