Robert J. “Bob” Hassler, age 68, of Fayetteville, PA, peacefully passed away in the company of his wife and daughters on March 24, 2018, at Hershey Medical Center. He is the son of Shirley Bryan and the late Ted C. Hassler.
Bob was a commercial diver, working on underwater construction projects until 1977, when he began working for United Parcel Service until retirement in 2005. He was an active member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and in the St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry Ministry. As an avid fisherman, he was a member and officer in Antietam Bassmasters, The Bass Federation (TBF), and Maryland Bass Nation.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jo Hassler, daughters Kari Hassler of Rockville, MD, and Stacie Hassler of London, England, and two siblings, Carl Hassler of Gig Harbor, WA, and Christine Magness of Bella Vista, AR.
A Memorial Mass will be offered on Monday, April 2, 2018, at 10 AM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave, Chambersburg, PA, celebrated by the Very Rev. Fr. Luis Rodriguez. Inurnment will be private at Corpus Christi Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the Hershey Medical Center, c/o Hematology Department, 500 University Drive, Hershey, PA 17033.
