Robert Kitzmiller

Robert E. “Bob” Kitzmiller, 91, of Chambersburg, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023 at Chambers Pointe Healthcare Center. Born August 28, 1932 in Shippensburg, he was the son of the late Raymond Kitzmiller, Sr. and Isabelle Patterson Kitzmiller.

Bob was a 1951 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School. A US Air Force veteran, he served honorably during the Korean War. He was employed as a Systems Analyst with DESCOM at Letterkenny Army Depot until his retirement. He was an active member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, VFW Post 1599, American Legion Post 46, and Sons of AmVets Sq. 224, all in Chambersburg. He and his wife enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Frances M. Worthington Kitzmiller, whom he married on April 27, 1958; four children, Brenda Budd (Michael) of Harrisburg, David Kitzmiller (Anna) of Chesapeake Beach, MD, Mark Kitzmiller (Margaret) of Beavercreek, OH, and Amy Ross of Chambersburg; eleven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Aside from his parents, Bob was preceded in death by four siblings, Irene Keller, Raymond Kitzmiller, Jr., Louise Ashburn, and Betty Salmon; and his son-in-law, Jim Ross.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, October 6, 2023 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 431 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201. Rev. Barbara Barry will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church at the above address or to a charity of your choice.
