Robert E. McDonald Jr., 62, of Chambersburg, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015 in the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Born on March 14, 1952 in Chambersburg, he was the son of Robert and Charlotte Shope McDonald of Chambersburg.
A 1970 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School, Bobby was drafted out of high school to play minor league baseball for the Kansas City Royals. He then attended Wilson Christian College in Wilson, NC. A gifted athlete, he also enjoyed bowling, golf and going to NASCAR races. Bobby was employed as Service Parts Manager with Cinetic Landis Corp in Hagerstown, with 42 years of service. He loved to make people laugh and greatly missed his beloved dog, Kasey Joe, who passed away last summer.
Aside from his parents, he is survived by his loving wife, Kris Kendall McDonald, whom he married on July 23, 2001; children Robby (and wife, Erica) and Jennifer Drake (and husband, Jason), step children Courtney and Brandon Swartz; grandchildren Robby IV, Jeyeleigh, Eli, Jaedyn, and Clara, all of Chambersburg, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service to honor Bobby’s life will be held at 8 PM on Thursday, March 5, 2015 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, with visitation from 5-8 PM. Pastor Don Baker will officiate. A private interment will be held in Lincoln Cemetery.
