Robert “Skeeter” Moore Jr., 85 of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2017.
Born September 24, 1932, in Birmingham, Alabama, he was a son of the late Robert Moore, Sr. and
Anne Pearl Mitchell Moore.
The Army brought Skeeter to Chambersburg, PA. Surviving are his children, Anthony Barton of Chambersburg; Constance Blassingame, California; Bradley Moore (Glenda) of North Carolina;
Lori Stinson (Craig) of New Jersey; Linda Moore of Chambersburg; and Nathaniel Moore (Lisa) of Chambersburg, three siblings, Jonny Moore, Robert Bahner Moore, and Robinette Moore. Skeeter is also survived by a host of loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Moore Sims.
Robert had the pleasure of serving our country as a Korean War Vet with an honorable discharge from the United States Army in 1957, as a Sergeant First Class. Robert continued to serve and retire after 30 years from the United States Army Reserves. Culminating the end of his career by retiring with 30 years of service from Letterkenny Army Depot. Robert was a member of Masonic Lodge, No. 260, Laurel Lodge 133, Temple 519 and John Wesley AME Zion Church. He enjoyed golf, tv westerns, playing cards, and his Washington Redskins.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2017, at 1 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Renata Mosley Harper will officiate. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service in the funeral Home. Interment will follow the service in Lebanon Cemetery.
