Robert Palladino

Robert J. Palladino, 80, of Chambersburg, PA, died Monday morning, December 23, 2013 in the emergency room of Chambersburg Hospital. Born November 1, 1933 in Allentown, PA, he was a son of the late Joseph and Angelina Trentalange Palladino. He was a 1951 graduate of the William Allen High School in Allentown and attended Penn State University and Moravian College. Mr. Palladino served with the US Army in Japan and later retired in November of 1998 as a Division Chief in DESCOM at Letterkenny Army Depot where he was awarded the Commander’s Award for Civilian Service. He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #842, B.P.O. Elks Lodge #600, Hume-McNeil-Byers AMVETS Post 224, Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion, and Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW; and the Amateur Radio Club, all in Chambersburg. He enjoyed family genealogy and working with electronics and computers.

Mr. Palladino is survived by his wife, Maribel Wolf Palladino, whom he married November 16, 1957; his daughter, Sandra Marie Palladino of Waynesboro; his son, Joe R. Palladino of Newburg; and his sister, Madaline Palladino of Allentown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Nunzio; and a sister, Jeanne. He will be greatly missed by his four legged companion, Zoey.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, December 27, 2013 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Paul B. Baker officiating. Interment with military honors by members of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard will follow at Norland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Road West, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
