Robert F. Rhoades, Jr., 66, of Chambersburg, PA and formerly of Ashland, PA, died unexpectedly, Monday, December 12, 2011 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born May 18, 1945 in Atlantic City, NJ, he was the son of the late Robert F. and Harriet Nicholls Rhoades. Bob was a graduate of the Ashland Area High School and the Williamsport Area Community College where he received an Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Drafting. He was employed for more than twenty years at the Goulds Pump Company in Ashland. Bob was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his loving wife of forty-four years whom he married June 17, 1967, R. Dianne Rhoades who is employed as the Office Manager at Franklin Family Practice in Chambersburg; three children, Robert F. Rhoades, III and wife Helen of Baltimore, MD, Scott A. Rhoades and wife Danielle of Lancaster, PA, and Angela Arnold and husband Richard of Chambersburg; four grandchildren, Colin Arnold, Gillian Phaneuf, Liam Arnold, and Elijah Phaneuf; and his sister, Judy Stepulitis and husband Edward of Gordon, PA.
The family will receive friends from Noon until a memorial service begins at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 14, 2012 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. Interment will be private.
