Robert Scott

Robert Leroy “Bob” Scott, Sr. age 84, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2021, at Laurel Lakes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born September 9, 1936, in Shippensburg, PA, he was the son of the late Ralph J. and Blanche M. Cook Scott.
Mr. Scott worked as a Gear Set Up Operator at Mack Truck for 35 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church and a life member of the Marine Corps League in Chambersburg, PA and the Hub City and Minnequa Clubs in Shippensburg, PA. Bob enjoyed playing Bingo and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Delores Wingert Scott, whom he married on June 15, 1957; four children, Terrie L. English (husband Robert) of Chambersburg, PA, Robert L. Scott, Jr. (wife Donna) of Chambersburg, PA, Pamela D. McNew (fiancé the late Jeff Craig) of Shippensburg, PA, and Michelle L. Groft (husband Jim) of Chambersburg, PA; eight grandchildren, Scott, Chad, Danielle, Ami, Brian, Billy, Ashley, and Jordan; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a brother, Donald Scott (wife Jean) of Chambersburg, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021, at 11:30 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
