Robert Tarner

April 25, 1950 — October 23, 2018

Robert N. Tarner, II, 68, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Tuesday morning, October 23, 2018 at Fairlane Gardens Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born April 25, 1950 in Chambersburg, he was a son of Robert N. and Peggy (Turner) Tarner of Chambersburg. He was a 1968 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School and received a Bachelor’s Degree from East Carolina University in Math and Statistics. He had been employed as a bartender of Fran’s Inn in Chambersburg since the mid 1980’s. A baseball enthusiast, he was a fan of the Atlanta Braves and enjoyed coaching in the Chambersburg Little League. He also enjoyed golf.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Joseph “Joey” Tarner and wife Kathryn of Philadelphia; his daughter, Noreen Tarner of Ft. Worth, TX; his grandson, Ashton Tarner; and his brother, Rusty Tarner. A sister, Cheryl Wietry, preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, October 26, 2018 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Murray Stevens will officiate. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association: Greater Pennsylvania Chapter; 9378 Interstate Dr. Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
