Robert J. Watz passed away on June 5, 2017 at Chambersburg Hospital. He was born June 23, 1925 on Tallman Avenue in Holidays Cove, WV. The family moved to Marland Heights, WV in 1929. He graduated from Weirton High School in the class of 1943. He volunteered to serve in the United States Marine Corps and served in the South Pacific Theater in World War II. Upon returning after the war he served on Weirton's first city police force. He married Wilma Ticich in 1950. They have one son, John Alan of Clarksville, TN. Robert attended WV University and received a BS degree in Pharmacy in 1953. His career spanned 50 plus years and covered living in Akron, OH, West Caldwell, NJ, and Milford, PA. He retired from the practice of pharmacy in 1997 and moved to Penn National golf resort in South Central, PA. His favorite past time was golfing, fishing, reading, and following the Mountaineers football team! He was a member of Saint Ignatius Church, VFW, American Legion, Knights of Columbus, the Lions Club of Penn National, and the Falling Spring Fly Fishing club.
