Robert “Rob” B. Wells, 47 of Fayetteville, PA, died Friday afternoon, May 27, 2011 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born September 30, 1963 in Chambersburg, he was a son of Rita Parker Kump of Garden Grove, CA and the late Edwin Lee Wells. Rob was a 1981 graduate of the Chambersburg High School and served in the US Air Force. He was currently employed by the Borough of Chambersburg and had previously been employed at T.B. Woods Ultracon. He also worked as a security officer at Municipal Park and at the Chambersburg Area Senior High School. He was a member of the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Company where he volunteered as an EMT and Fire Policeman. He was active with a number of community youth activities including coaching basketball in Chambersburg and baseball in Fayetteville. He at one time coached the Harrisburg Piranha semi-pro football team and had played for and assisted with coaching the Chambersburg Cardinals. Rob was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and the Washington Redskins. He enjoyed golfing, painting, and playing softball.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Tanya Cuff Wells; two children, Brenton E. and Brittany M. Wells, both at home; a grandson, Gaige P. Wells; a sister, Carole Wells of Harrisburg; a brother, Brian Wells and wife Kimberly of Chambersburg; a number of nieces, nephews, and aunts; and his canine companion of fifteen years, Nellie.

A memorial service will be conducted by Pastor Brett McKoy at 3:00 PM Tuesday, May 31, 2011 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private.
