Robert E. “Bob” Wilson, age 77, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at the Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born March 2, 1938, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Arthur and H. Louise High Wilson.
A machine operator, Bob dedicated 36 years, working at the James River Corporation, retiring in 1998. He was a member of St. James United Brethren Church, the NRA, National Sporting Clays Association, life member of the Chambersburg Rod and Gun Club, the Chambersburg Mall Walkers, and the Waynesboro Fish and Game Association. Bob enjoyed hunting, collecting Santa Claus, and civil war reenacting.
Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Patricia Humelsine Wilson, whom he married on January 5, 1963; three children, Greg R. Wilson (wife Nina) of Chambersburg, PA, Richard E. Wilson of Chambersburg, PA, and A. Nicole Bird (husband Robert) of Hurricane, WV; four grandchildren; six great – grandchildren; one step-grandson; two step great-grandchildren; and one sister. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Webber Wilson.
Funeral services to honor Bob’s life will be held on Friday, December 18, 2015, at 10 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA; where Rev. Murray Stevens and Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 17 from 6 – 8 PM and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home on Friday. Interment will follow the service in Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to St. James United Brethren Church, 2404 Warm Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA 17202.
