Robert L. “Bob” Zullinger, age 62, of St. Thomas, PA, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Chambersburg Hospital. Born April 21, 1952, he was a son of Dorothy Diehl Zullinger and the late Orville Wayne Zullinger, Sr.
Bob was a 1970 graduate of CASHS. A U.S. Army National Guard veteran, Bob served honorably during the Vietnam era. He was the owner/operator of Bob Zullinger Heating for the past 27 years. Prior to starting his own business, Bob worked as a furnace technician for E.C. Barnes then Total Energy until 1987. He was a life member and served as the commander of the Detrich-Brechbill Post 612 American Legion in St. Thomas for the past four years until he retired from that position in August of 2014. Bob enjoyed pitching horseshoes in the St. Thomas American Legion League where he always placed among the top. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife to the Caribbean Islands and the beach.
In addition to his mother, Bob is survived by his wife of 37 years, Donna Keefer Zullinger, whom he married on July 31, 1977; two daughters, Lori Angle and husband Chris of Mercersburg, and Lisa Lehman of St. Thomas; five grandchildren, Ashley Angle, Alex Angle, Cody Ferrell, Casey Ferrell, and Zoey Lehman; and three siblings, Richard L. Zullinger of Chambersburg, Darlene Wenger and husband Alvin of Chambersburg, and Rodney D. Zullinger of Millerstown. Aside from his father, Bob is preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Zullinger and Orville Wayne Zullinger, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday, September 22, 2014 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Pastor Kenneth Williamson will officiate. Interment with military honors provided by the Detrich-Brechbill Post 612 American Legion will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 21, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
