Roberta Happel

Roberta L. Happel, age 80, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away at the Chambersburg Hospital on Saturday, September 2, 2017. Born February 2, 1937, in Antrim Township, PA, she was the daughter of the late Eldridge Buchanan and Etta Mae Hager Snyder.
A data processor, Mrs. Happel worked at Letterkenny Army Depot for 19 years, retiring in 1998. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, dining out, watching game shows, the N.Y. Yankees, and the Dallas Cowboys.
Surviving are six children, Kathy D. Warren (husband Ed) of Orrstown, PA, Diane K. Reed (husband Michael) of Orrstown, PA, Harold F. Armstrong of Shippensburg, PA, Douglas K. Armstrong of Scotland, PA, Karen D. Corwell (husband Jay) of Dry Run, PA, and Darren K. Armstrong (fiancé Tina) of Chambersburg, PA; ten grandchildren, Tracey Schultz (husband Jay Claycomb), Todd Schultz (wife Abby), Scott Reed (wife Bekah), Michael C.H. Reed (wife Katie), Christina Yeager (husband David), Jami D. Blanchard (husband Jason), Shelly Chilcote (husband Shawn), Jay Corwell, Jr. (wife Amy), Tessa M. Dangel, (husband David), and Dalton Richard Rock Armstrong; 22 great-grandchildren; a brother, William Snyder of Chambersburg, PA; and a brother in law, Ross Saur of Chambersburg, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Happel.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017, at 10 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Dr. Kent will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 7, from 6 – 8 PM and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home on Friday. Interment will be private. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all the U. S. Renal Care and Chambersburg Hospital and physicians, nurses, and the entire support staff for their care and attentiveness over the last two years. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Samaritan’s Purse for the Houston Recovery, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
