Robin D. Garnes, age 58, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born December 23, 1958, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Margaret Ballinger Garnes.
A graduate of the Franklin Learning Center, Robin went to work for O.S.I. for a number of years in Chambersburg. She was a dedicated volunteer in the community, volunteering at Head Start, the United Way, Trinity Lutheran Church, and Better Days Animal League and Thrift Store. She was a member of First Lutheran Evangelical Church in Chambersburg and attended services at the Salvation Army. Robin enjoyed volunteering, watching Lawrence Welk, figure skating, Star Trek, social events, and going to the Igloo for ice cream.
Robin is survived by her siblings, Samuel L. Garnes (wife Glennis) of Chambersburg, and Larry E. Garnes (wife Michele) of College Park, MD.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at 11 AM in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, 3218 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA; where Pastor Jerry Roth will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, from 6 – 8 PM in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Keystone Human Services, 170 Mill Rd, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
