Rodney D. Hunsecker, 72, of Fayetteville, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at his home. Born September 1, 1949 in Chambersburg, he was the son of Grace Hunsecker Heintzelman and the late Barney Huss.
Rodney was a 1967 graduate of CASHS. A US Marine Corps veteran, Rodney served honorably during the Vietnam War. Early in his life Rodney was employed as a mechanic and tow truck driver with Rife Motor Company. For the last 45 years he was employed as a truck driver for Shippensburg Leasing and most recently with the Woods Company. He was a member of AMVETS Post 224 and the Marine Corps League, both in Chambersburg. He attended Mt. Pleasant United Brethren Church in Chambersburg. He enjoyed working on cars, building race cars, attending NASCAR races, traveling and reading. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, Rodney is survived by his wife, Wanda L. Baughman-Hunsecker, whom he married on June 20, 2012; his son, Rodney Hunsecker II and wife Shannon of Chambersburg; two grandchildren, Caitlin and Colton Hunsecker of Chambersburg; one sister, Rhonda Carey and husband Chuck of Waynesboro; and his nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 - 6:00 PM on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Mt. Pleasant United Brethren Church, 2509 Black Gap Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Garry Culler will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
