Ronald L. Diehl passed away April 16, 2023, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Mr. Diehl was born in Everett, Pennsylvania on July 31, 1940, to the late Walter A. Diehl and Lulu (Pittman) Diehl. On August 5, 1961, he married Mary (Rohm) Diehl who survives along with his daughters, Carla A. Diehl and Lori A. Kelsey. He will be remembered as a much loved and wonderful husband and father.
In addition to his wife, Mary and daughters, Carla and Lori, he is survived by two sisters, Marylou Tompkins and Winnie Callihan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Francis Diehl; and four sisters, Helen Gorsuch, Evelyn Spade, Betty Gamble, and Mildred Crumbacker.
He was a gem of all high school sports; football quarterback; basketball; and baseball. In his later years he would run each day and ran for 35 years. He also loved golfing with his buddies. He worked for New Enterprise Stone Company and was transferred to Valley Quarries in Chambersburg, where he worked until his retirement in 2005. After his retirement, he and Mary would spend a great deal of time in San Diego with their daughter and husband; and also enjoyed some time in Florida during the winter season. Ron and Mary were faithful members of the First United Methodist Church in Chambersburg.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Everett Cemetery, Everett, PA, where Pastor Robert Robertson will officiate. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
