Ronald Garber

November 4, 1943 — April 28, 2012

Ronald L. Garber, 68, of Chambersburg, PA, went to be with the Lord Saturday morning, April 28, 2012 from his home while surrounded by his family. Born November 4, 1943 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Lloyd and M. Margaret Rosenberry Garber. Ronald was a 1961 graduate of the Chambersburg High School and served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. He retired in June of 1993 from Letterkenny Army Depot where he had been employed as an Electronics Analyst. He was a former member of King Street United Brethren Church in Chambersburg. His hobbies included hunting and electronics.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 41 ½ years, Janis M. Smith Garber, whom he married November 6, 1970; his son, Bradley Garber, his wife Tracy, and their children Seth, Mason, and Myla, all of Arendtsville, PA; his daughter, Rhonda Peck, her husband Rodney, and their son Cole, all of Orrstown, PA; and his brother, Bill Binner of Tifton, GA.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 2, 2012 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. Interment with military honors by members of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from Noon-1:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Home Care and Hospice, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
