Ronald E. Kissel, 75, of Chambersburg, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Reading Hospital. Born November 18, 1942 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Lee and Mary Seilhamer Kissel.
Ronald was a 1960 graduate of CASHS. He later served honorably in the Army National Guard for six years. He was part-owner of Lehman’s Egg Service for many years then worked as a sales consultant after the company was sold to NestFresh. Ronald was a member of King Street Church where he sang in the Church Choir. He enjoyed hunting with his son and grandsons, attending his grandson’s baseball games, and playing golf on Monday nights in the King Street Church league. He was also a fan of Penn State Football, the Washington Redskins and the Baltimore Orioles.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Susan Barnes Kissel, whom he married on December 18, 1966; two sons, Shawn Kissel and wife Jennifer of Chambersburg and Jason Kissel of Bryn Mawr, PA; three grandsons, Hayden, Gavin and Wyatt Kissel; sisters-in-law, Dolores Kissel and Cheryl Alleman and husband Ralph; brother-in-law, Ted Barnes and wife Bernice; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Kissel.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday, March 12, 2018, in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Ron Cook will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
