Ronald G. “Tiny” Martin, age 74, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, March 24, 2015 at Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence in Harrisburg, PA. Born October 23, 1940 in Orrstown, PA, he was a son of the late McClay E. and Verda M. Butts Martin.
After attending Shippensburg High School, Ronald first worked for Valley Pride Baking Co. He then worked for Coca-Cola Bottling Works in Chambersburg for 9 years, Allegheny Pepsi-Cola in Newville for 10 years, Kraft Sealtest in Chambersburg for 11 years, and retired as Transportation Director at Martin’s Famous Pastry Shoppe in 2003. He was a member of Salem United Brethren Church.
Ronald is survived by two daughters, Tamra D. Frederick of Chambersburg, Pamra A. Bowser (husband John) of Hershey; son-in-law, Mike Frederick of Lusby, MD; five grandchildren, Michael D. Frederick, Jr. (wife Erin) of Lewisberry, Ashley N. Sewell (husband Adam) of Pittsburgh, Laurel P. Duke (husband Jay) of Chesapeake Beach, MD, Jordan M. Bowser and Carly A. Bowser both of Hershey; a great-grandson, Logan Duke; his sister, Pauline Warren of Shippensburg, two sisters-in-law, Sarah Martin and Goldie Martin; numerous nieces and nephews; his best friend, Curvey Topper of Chambersburg; and his “girlfriend”, Fluffy. In addition to his parents, Ronald is preceded in death by his first wife, Sara A. (Hoover) Martin; second wife, Romaine Martin; seven brothers; and three sisters.
A funeral service to honor his life will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 30, 2015 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Ronald Cook will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
