Ronald McCleary

Ronald G. McCleary, 83, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at his home. Born August 2, 1940 in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Roy and Margaret Deardorff McCleary. His beloved wife, Doris J. Creamer McCleary, preceded him in death on April 2, 2015.

Along with his wife, Ronald was the owner/operator of Creamer Oil Company for 20 years until their retirement in 1996. He was a member of St. Thomas United Methodist Church, and Mt. Pisgah Lodge #443. Ronald enjoyed hunting, playing golf, traveling to Myrtle Beach, and taking his ’64 Chevelle to car shows. He also enjoyed bowling and shooting pool.

He is survived by two daughters, Kathy J. Bittinger, and Kimberly S. Ridenour (husband Dan), both of Fayetteville; four grandchildren, Derek Ridenour (wife Melissa), Kiesha Wolabaugh (husband Clinton), Wesley Bittinger (wife Courtney), and Danielle Ridenour (husband Corey); and seven great grandchildren, Aubree Bittinger, Marley Wolabaugh, Paxton Ridenour, Bristol Wolabaugh, Mason Ehmer, Baylee Bittinger, and Ariella Ehmer. Aside from his wife and parents, Ronald was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Charles McCleary.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 28, 2023, in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. Timothy Funk will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Wednesday evening, December 27, 2023 and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. A masonic service will be held on Wednesday evening at 7:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, 1976 Scotland Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201 or to St. Thomas United Methodist Church, PO Box 248, St. Thomas, PA 17252.
