Rosemary Letha Tokar (Block), 74, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.
Born July 23, 1942 in Syracuse, NY, she was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lillian (Case) Block, brother Jack Block, and sister Ann Betelak. After her retirement from Dun and Bradstreet in Murray Hill, New Jersey, she became a member of Corpus Christi Church of Chambersburg, where she was active in the Busy Fingers, Prayer Shawls Ministry, and several other church organizations. She was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1426 Columbian Ladies. An avid crafter her whole life, she was always busy quilting, knitting, or sewing and giving of her time, talents and love wherever it was needed.
Rosemary is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert Tokar; a son, John Tokar and his wife Lynelle (Barnello) of Eldersburg, MD; a daughter, Cynthia Tokar and her partner Jeff Leinbach of Chambersburg; four grandchildren, Rachel Tokar, Sarah Tokar, Zoe Philippou, and Katherine Tokar; three sisters, Virginia Merrill of Rochester, NY, Theresa Boyle of Syracuse, NY, and Elizabeth Block of Syracuse, NY; and one brother, Paul Block of Salisbury, NC.
A Memorial Mass will be offered on Friday, March 3, 2017 at 10 AM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church 320, Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Fr. Brian Olkowski will celebrate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 6 – 8 PM in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA. If desired, memorial contributions in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Saint Vincent DePaul Ministry at Corpus Christi Church.
