Roy C. Bollinger, 85, of Chambersburg, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 in Chambersburg Hospital. Born on April 13, 1930, he was the son of the late Allen and Emma Stonesifer Bollinger. Prior to retirement, Roy spent his working years at Littlestown Hardware and Foundry. Earlier in life, he was a firefighter and was a life member of Alpha Fire Department Company 1 in Littlestown.
Roy is survived by his wife of 34 years, Helen Joyce Davidson Bollinger whom he married on December 6, 1980; a daughter, Denise Stambaugh and husband Jerry of Littlestown; a son, Neal Bollinger and wife Carol of Littlestown; 3 step-daughters Susan Reitz and husband Paul, Sandra Richey, and Shari Warren all of Chambersburg; 3 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Gladys Bell of Taneytown, MD and Lucy Eyler of Scotsboro, AL; and 5 brothers, Allen of Palos Hills, IL, Paul of Baltimore, MD, Joe of Rowland, NC, Arvin of Taneytown, MD and Ivan of Gettysburg, PA Aside from his parents, his was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Doris Rock and Mildred Wallick; and 2 brothers, William and Harold Bollinger.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 22, 2015 at 11:30AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. Murray Stevens will officiate. Interment will follow in Oaklawns Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Sunday, June 21, 2015 and one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
