Russell E. Bryan, 86, of Spring Run, PA, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at ManorCare Health Services, Chambersburg, PA. Born January 3, 1929 in Richmond Furnace, PA, he was a son of the late Jacob Henry Bryan, Sr. and Florence Gilbert Bryan. His beloved wife, Josephine G. Bryan, preceded him in death on April 26, 2015.
Russell was a graduate of the former Fannett Township High School. He worked most of his career as a mechanic at Letterkenny Army Depot until his retirement in 1984 after 35 years of service. Russell enjoyed hunting and going to sprint car races at Williams Grove and Port Royal.
He is survived by two children, Larry Bryan (Beatrice) of Spring Run, PA and Linda Taylor (fiancé Robert Hammond) of Spring Run, PA; four grandchildren, Shelly McMullen (Chris) of Fannettsburg, PA, Angela Taylor of South Carolina, Tony Taylor (Carrie) of Needmore, PA, and Ricky Taylor (Erica) of Nossville, PA; four great-grandchildren, Kyli, Anastasia, and Alijah Simmons and Grant McMullen; and a sister, Grace Bryan MacInnes of Chambersburg. In addition to his parents and wife, Russell is preceded in death by and infant sister; a brother, Jacob “Pete” Bryan; four half-brothers, Norman, Frank, Charles, and Lester Bryan; and a half-sister.
Services and interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Upper Path Valley Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 128, Spring Run, PA 17262. Arrangements are entrusted to the Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, Dry Run, PA.
