Ruth M. Clever, age 89, of Chambersburg, PA passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2012 in the Falling Spring Nursing and Rehab Center. Born December 27, 1922 in Chambersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Margaret Scharr Lininger.
Mrs. Clever was a 1940 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School. Mrs. Clever was employed at the former Stanley Co. for a number of years as well as the former PET; where she retired in 1986 after 11 years of service. By spending time with her family, she brought much joy to their lives.
Surviving are her children, Bonita M. Hammond (Eddy F.) of Sevierville, TN; Robert V. Clever, Jr. (Hope) of Chambersburg, PA; Randolph W. Clever (Judith) of Philadelphia, PA; Karen S. Payne (Linwood) of Chambersburg, PA; and Scott E. Clever (Mary Lynn) of Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, 17 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, and a brother, Carl “Buck” Lininger (Martha) of Chambersburg, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert V. Clever in 1993, four brothers, and one grandson.
Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 10 AM; where Rev. Lester F. Stine and Rev. Scott E. Clever will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 from 6-9 PM and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
