Ruth E. Finch, 95, of Greensboro, NC and formerly of Chambersburg, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2016. Born May 4, 1920 in Pittsburgh, PA, she was a daughter of the late Edward L. and Nettie Miller Metz. Ruth was employed as a baker in the cafeteria of the Pittsburgh Board of Education until her retirement in 1985.
She is survived by two children, Leanna R. McGrail (wife of the late John H. McGrail) of Chambersburg, and William R. Finch (wife Denise) of Greensboro, NC; six grandchildren, Martha McGrail Woodcock of CT, Patricia Ann Ott of VA, Michelle Lynn Gootkin of NC, Jaclyn Leigh Herndon of NC, Bryan William Finch of NV, and Matthew Lee Finch of NC; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her beloved husband Lee M. Finch on May 24, 1971, four brothers and one sister.
Services and interment will be private and under the direction of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
