S. Geary Sadler
June 29, 1918 — February 5, 2012
Rev. S. Geary Sadler, 93 went to be with his Lord on February 5, 2012 from his daughter’s home in Chariton, Iowa after a short illness.
Born June 29, 1918 to Samuel and Catherine Sadler of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, Rev. Sadler served the Lord joyfully as a pastor. His love of people and commitment to God’s calling touched many lives and he will be greatly missed. He loved gardening, reading, and spreading God’s word through his tape ministry. He faithfully prayed for his family and his church family. After retirement he and his wife attended Montgomery Brethren in Christ Church near Mercersburg. His wife, Pauline B. Miller Sadler, whom he married May 29, 1939, preceded him in death on July 26, 2008.
He is survived by his son, Ronald Sadler and wife Josephine of Hernando, FL; five daughters, Darlene Cooley and husband Ralph of Waxhaw, NC, Connie Kipe of Chambersburg, PA, Kathryn Anderson and husband Rev. Michael of Chariton, IA, Suzanne Budke and husband Roger of Smyrna, TN, and Faith Trent of Wetumpka, AL. He was blessed with nineteen grandchildren and thirty-nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Robert Sadler. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one sister, Emma Cope.
Visitation will be at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg on Thursday, February 9, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 PM and from 10:30-11:30 AM on Friday. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 AM on Friday, February 10, 2012 in the funeral home by Pastor Dennis Ritchey. Interment will follow at Air Hill Cemetery.
