Sadie A. Mills, 89, of Hamburg, PA and formerly of Dry Run, passed away Monday, November 19, 2012 in the emergency room at Reading Hospital. Born January 17, 1923 in Three Springs, PA, she was a daughter of the late Harry S. and Golda M. Harnish Browand. Early in her life she had worked one season at the former H.J. Heinz Company in Chambersburg. She and her late husband owned and operated The Pines Tavern in Fannettsburg, PA. Mrs. Mills was a member of the First Church of God in Newburg and attended Dry Run Church of the Brethren. Her husband, Mosco D. Mills, preceded her in death on December 25, 1996.
She is survived by two son, Glever Horton and wife Suzanne of Hamburg, PA and Thomas D. Horton and wife Carol of York, PA; three step-children, Wesley Mills and wife Fern of Carlisle, PA, Donald Mills and wife Cindy of Dry Run, PA, and Susan Stains of Hustontown, PA; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Samuel Browand of Scranton, PA and Betty Horton of Altoona, PA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, one sister, three half-brothers, and two half-sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, 18875 Main Street, Dry Run, PA with Rev. Roy Fahnestock and Rev. Tim Vaughn officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Shade Gap, PA. The family will receive friends from 7-9:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
