Sammy Bock

January 5, 1947 — April 14, 2013

Sammy L. Bock, age 66, of Chambersburg, PA passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2013 in the Chambersburg Hospital surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born January 5, 1947 in Dixon, IL, he was the son of the late Edward Bock and the late Hope Large.
A U.S. Air Force veteran, Sammy served honorably during the Vietnam conflict. He went on to work for over 30 years as a project manager for Nth Degree, retiring in 2010. Sammy enjoyed playing darts, fishing, woodworking, and NASCAR. He was a member of the Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599, The Burt Asper American Legion Post 465, the Marine Corps League in Chambersburg, and the Minnequa Club in Shippensburg.
Surviving is his wife of 28 years, Phyllis Keaton Bock; four children, Pamela Hymer (husband Rick) of Sanford, NC; Christy Bock of Knoxville, TN; Jamie Carey of Chambersburg, PA; and Brandon Bock of Chambersburg, PA; three grandchildren, Kimberly Hymer, Sara Hymer, and Ethanael Carey.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 2:30 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA; where members of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard will perform military honors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will be private. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all the family and friends that showed their support during this trying time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, 384 Floral Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
