Samuel E. Miller, 65, of Chambersburg, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at his home with his family by his side. Born July 14, 1955 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Charles Luther Miller and Irene Grace Matthews.
Sam was a 1973 graduate of CASHS. He started his career at Franklin Feed & Supply Company while in high school and retired as general manager in 2020 after 47 years. He was a member of King Street United Brethren Church. Sam was a very involved and active member in his community. He served as Treasurer of the Rotary Club and was on several Purina Advisory Committees. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, golfing and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and Florida State Seminoles.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda L. Kauffman Miller, whom he married on March 9, 1974; two daughters, Stacy Heckman and husband Tony, and Amy Miller, both of Chambersburg; five grandchildren, Kobe, Maddie, Presley, Tyson and Sadie; two siblings, Connie Kight and husband Billy of Jacksonville, FL, and Dean Miller and wife Tammy of Guntown, MS; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by two nieces, Gail Becker and Karen McGinley.
Funeral services to honor Sam’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 10:00 AM at King Street United Brethren Church, 162 E. King Street Chambersburg, PA 17201. Rev. Ron Cook will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202, and one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Samaritan Fund at King Street Church, 56 North 2nd St. Chambersburg, PA 17201 or kingstreetchurch.com.
