Samuel Naugle

Samuel Lee Naugle, 68, of Chambersburg, PA, died Friday, December 21, 2012 in the emergency room of Chambersburg Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Greene Township. Born October 22, 1944 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Wilda Parker. Sam was a graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School and served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was employed for many years at the former American Can Company and then the former James River Corporation in Chambersburg until the plant closed. He later retired from the Franklin County Prison where he was employed as a Corrections Officer. Sam was currently employed, part-time, at BAPS Auto Paint and Supply in Chambersburg. He was a member of the Fannett Metal Fire Company and the M and M Hunting Club. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing. He especially liked spending time with his family.

He is survived by three children, Scott Samuel Naugle and wife Patricia of Spring Run, PA, Shawna Rae Naugle of Dry Run, PA, and Stacie Marie Kornman and husband Reid of Wilmington, DE; four grandchildren, Darien Baer, Matthew Elter, Noah Naugle, and Nicholas Naugle; and his brother, Michael Naugle of Fayetteville, PA.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, December 28, 2012 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Philip Foster and Rev. James Fox officiating. Interment will be private. Military honors will be provided by members of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, December 27, 2012 and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
