Samuel Sheppard

Samuel A. Sheppard, age 65, of Chambersburg, passed away on Tuesday, August 09, 2011 in Manor Care Health Services of Chambersburg. Born on August 7, 1946, he was the son of the late Samuel Albert and Eula Mae Hoffer Sheppard. Samuel worked as a forklift operator at Manitowoc Crane. He was a member of the Burt J. Asper American Legion Post 46, Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599, Veterans of Vietnam War Inc. Post 41, and Laurel Lodge IBPOE #133. A U.S. Army veteran, Samuel enjoyed fishing, shooting pool, and spending time with his family.

Surviving are his wife Jenny L. Sheppard whom he married on July 13, 1996; his daughter, Maura Williams and husband Randy; grandchildren, Randy Jr., Brandon, and Jamura Williams; great-granddaughter, Saniah Williams; two nieces; five nephews; twelve great-nieces and nephews; and five great-great-nieces and nephews. Aside from his parents, Samuel is preceded in death by one sister, Annie Sheppard McCloud.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 in the chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd. Chambersburg, with Rev. G. Nathan Bell officiating. Interment will follow in Lebanon Cemetery, where members of VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard will conduct military graveside honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9 PM on Monday, and from 12-1 PM on Tuesday.
